Here are three great ways to memorialize your hard work and dedication throughout your year of volunteering.
- Create a journal of your experiences. After every volunteer opportunity you participate in, record your thoughts, memories, and experiences in a volunteer journal. This would be great to share with friends who are thinking about taking the volunteer challenge of dedicating 100 hours in one year. Also, it might inspire you years later to continue to volunteer.
- Bring a digital camera with you while you volunteer. Take pictures and record the events if possible. After the year is up, download the pictures to Picasa. Click HERE for a free download of this software. After downloading all your pictures, click the collage button and create a collage of your year of volunteering. This will be a great way to remember your experiences and you can use it to persuade others to volunteer and have as much fun as you did!
- Sign up for the Presidential Service Award. If you are between the ages of 15-24 and donate 100-174 hours of volunteering work, you can receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award: Bronze Level. If you do above 174 hours you can achieve a higher level award. To sign up for this program click HERE.
